Welcome to Season 4 of It’s Never About Money!
I’ve been doing this podcast for two or so years, so to start this season I thought it would be a great time to take stock of the journey up to this point.
Reflecting on the previous 50 episodes of this podcast, I realise how much it has changed and enriched my life. It all began with COVID lockdowns and a need to pursue creativity. I started to write music and learned how to use Ableton, a music production software. Quickly I was on my way to finishing a body of work that I was incredibly proud of.
I was doing it because of passion and desire, almost regardless of the output. It certainly wasn’t about money. It was a pursuit of creativity, personal development and, quite simply, fun.
This process really got me thinking about Stephan Independent Advisory and what aspects of the business that I actually truly loved. It didn’t take long for me to start thinking about the conversations I have with my clients. In the conversations we talk about much more than just money; we talk about their future, their aspirations and the things they love the most. We talk about what brings meaning into their lives.
It’s those types of conversations that are steeped in value and meaning that lead me to start It’s Never About Money.
Flashforward to 2023 and I am starting season 4. Over the previous three seasons I have had the pleasure to talk to so many different people from so many different walks of life. My guests are the reason this podcast is still going. Each has a unique perspective that solidifies my approach to meaning and money.
None more so than Travis Shelton from Meaning Over Money. When I first got to speak with Travis, I knew that our paths would cross again in the future (I even said it at the end of episode #49). Our views are very much aligned and our conversations are rich and thoughtful.
So when it came to planning out the new season, I couldn’t think of a better way to start it than another conversation with Travis. Our conversation spans meaning, money, fulfilment and impact. I have never been more affirmed to continue It’s Never About Money and to continue having incredible conversations with incredible people.
