When I first started It’s Never About Money, I thought of it as a side project. A way to have interesting conversations about the deeper side of finance, legacy, purpose, and meaning. What I didn’t realise at the time was that this podcast would become one of the most meaningful things I do.
Episode 70 marks a new chapter for the show and for me personally. It is a solo reflection on how the podcast has evolved, what it has taught me, and why curiosity, not money, has always been at its heart.
How Curiosity Shapes the Way I Work
I have come to understand that I am wired to learn through conversation. The questions I ask on the podcast are the same ones I ask myself as an adviser, a business owner, and a father. When I speak with guests, I am not chasing trends. I am chasing understanding: of how people think, what drives them, and how they define a life well lived.
That curiosity keeps me grounded. It helps me grow and allows me to keep helping others grow too.
A Personal Curriculum in Disguise
Over time, It’s Never About Money has become more than a podcast. It has become a personal curriculum. Each season helps me explore a new theme, and this one, focused on Health, feels especially relevant.
Health in all its forms: physical, mental, emotional, and financial. Because you cannot talk about wealth without talking about wellbeing. And you cannot talk about legacy without asking how we take care of ourselves and those we love.
Curiosity as a Compass
Curiosity is what allows me to keep asking better questions of my guests, my clients, and myself. It is the difference between talking about money as numbers and talking about it as a reflection of values, choices, and relationships.
This episode is about returning to that original spark. It is about remembering that what makes us curious is what makes us human.
So if you have ever wondered what goes on behind the mic or how a podcast can change the person who hosts it, I invite you to listen in. You might find that the questions you ask of others can become the lessons you most need yourself.
